Faith into Action began after the 2001 flood.
The church went into action to help folks in the community. Since then each year we go out as local home missionaries to try to help those who are in need. The above pic is one of the houses we helped to clean up after the flood. We try to help when the vision comes or the need arises.
This past year we took over thirty Christmas hams and food out to folks in the community at Christmas. We have built ramps for the handicapped, painted houses, installed windows, cleaned windows just to mention a few of the activities included in F. I. A. Come and join us in spreading the gospel to our community. Here are some pics from the past. Come and help serve the Lord with your heart and Hands!

Folks in our community needed some help. Shouldn't we always be willing to help others?
You are welcome to come with us to put our faith into action.
So, here is the group in action:

What is the purpose of carrying around these signs? The Fayette County Board of Education is closing four high schools within our county. In an effort to let the board know of the desires of the people a group from the affected areas attended the public hearings held on Saturday, January 12, 2002.
James 2:14 What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? 15 Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. 18 But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds." Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.

What did the church do? A group of church members wanted to open the doors of the church to those who would be attending the hearings throughout the day. Since the church is directly across the street from the board office where the meetings where held, the opportunity to help out those in need was available. The church fellowship hall was opened to anyone who wanted to come in to rest, get warm, and get some refreshments. Many from all over the county came in to rest. We are glad you came. We are praying for you.

Special thanks to all the families who participated in this FIA event. You continue to show me what Faith is all about. Special thanks to those who worked in the fellowship hall throughout the day to allow many needy people to find a place of refuge from the storm. Thanks to: Jack and Marian Tanner, Richard and Judy Spearen, Kelly Weis, Shauna Dempsey, Sharon Cruikshank, George and Kathy Coleman, Lynn George, Caren Workman, Meri George, Beth George, Robert Bates, the Youth Group, our principals: Mr. Garvin and Mr. Hough, all Fayette Countians who strive to be heard, and all the members of the Fayetteville Baptist Church for being willing to open your doors to people in the community. Many gave of their time, talents, and treasures. May the Lord continue to bless you in his service. As your Pastor I am proud to have been apart of His wonderful work here in this church. Let's keep up the good work until He comes. To God be the glory.
